CELESTE WAANDERS
Law Student & Chairwoman Honours Association
Enschede, The Netherlands

Our Meeting in Enschede
We were both ambassadors of our respective Honours Programmes.

When asked which objects represent living life fully…She showed the quotes on her wall, her photo album and a map of Rome.

Do you often think about the transience of life?  Actually, no! That doesn’t preoccupy my mind at all. I just live in the here and now. It doesn’t add anything for me to think about it.I recently watched a documentary about space and then it really struck me that our Earth is so small and our lives are very short. In The Netherlands we have a privileged position, as there are so many opportunities for self-development.

What ensures that you make the most out of life? You have to do it yourself, the decision is yours to make that happen. In the Western world we certainly have opportunities to make a difference. You have the power to change things so there is no use taking on a victim role. Take responsibility instead.

How do you want to be remembered? As a passionate person who tried to make the world a bit more beautiful.

Where do you see yourself in the near future? Definitely not in one place, actually I hope to never live in one place for a long time. I hope to be a lawyer and assist communities with legal support. But, honestly I live in the now and try not to look too far into the future.
